HERE I'm going to discuss about famouse Gujarati Poet Vinod Joshi and his poem "Sairandhri".
VINOD JOSHI is a post modern Gujarati poet, writer and critic. He was born on 13 August 1955 in Bhoringda, a village of Amreli district, Gujarat. Joshi ha been influenced by the folkloric Gujarati language of hi mother, Lilavati Joshi. Joshi started writing poetry during his school days. In standard 10, he explored the Sandkrit shlokas and vantured into the metrical form. Hi poetry was first published in 1973 in Kumar, a Gujarati language magazine. His poems have subsequently been published in other Gujarati periodicals including, Kavilok, Kavita and Parab.

The main theme of the poem is lost identity. The setting is taken from The Mahabharata 's Virat Parva. After losing the gambling match against The Kauravas. They leaved Hastinapur and chose to live in the kingdom of King Viarat, where Daurpadi disgusted as Sairandhri (female servant). Daupadi lost he identity and lived there as a servant, what a great misery. During the disguise Draupadi become victim of the lus of Kichaka - the commander in chief of Matsya. He was a powerful man an ha immense power. He tried to embrace her but Sairandhri (Draupadi) cried and pushed him away. She was then pursued by Kichaka, to the throne room where sh was seized by hair, brought dawn to ground and kicked before a full assembly of courtiers, including her disguised husband Yudhishthira. Neither Yudhishthira nor King Virata could react because of Kichaka immense power. Joshi also presented Draupadi in love with Karna.

In thi lines Joshi describes how she (Drauupadi) sees Karna during the savayamvara and falls for him. She loves Karana in her heart and also imagines him in her dreams. Joshi beautifully described the inner misery of Sairandhri (Draupadi), he secret love for Karna, and her sufferings.
