          Today's blog is about a very interesting topic, SEER- Source Educational Evaluation Rubric. Today everything is digital, online payments , online shopping, online studying, digital banking(net banking)and so on, thus everything is digitized but everything has two sides one negative and another one positive. we always heard or read about digital fraud or hacking. just like social media students also do cheating in their studies. Technology and websites are designed to help students to guide and provide help in their studies but nowadays students misuse it they just do CCP(Cut, Copy and Paste) instead of using websites as their study guide they just cut, copy and paste the content provided by the site .this is not good ,but every problem has a solution to avoid plagiarism , there is a website TURNITIN , an American commercial , internet based plagiarism detection service came in action against it. There are some websites which sells education ,which provides wrong or incorrect information to find out about the authenticity, originality , quality, educational values and intentness of this websites TURNITIN helps .

                The source  educational evaluation rubric (SEER)represents the evolution of the critical approach that TURNITIN has adopted and used to categorize websites in their own analysis of students sources .The rubric was designed by academic experts and used by secondary and higher education educators who field- tested the rubric by using it to evaluate over 300 of the most popular  student sources.

     The rubric is built on five criteria :

⇰AUTHORITY : Is the site well regarded, cited                                  and written by experts in the field?

⇰EDUCATIONAL VALUE: Does the site content                                                 help advan educational goals ?

⇰INTENT : Is the site a well- respected source of            content intended to inform users?

⇰ORIGINALITY : Is the site a source of original                                   content and viewpoints ?

⇰QUALITY : Is the site highly vetted with good                          coverage of the topical area?

      Here i tried to find about the originality, educational value , intentness ,authority about some websites which i use often in my study.

1] POETRY FOUNDATION : 

             It is a non-subscription site that offers authored content and for authority this site  deserves 4,for educational value this site deserves 4 because  one can find  poems of scholar poets  in just one click  and it helps to achieve advance educational goals, for quality  this site receives  4 because this site is highly vetted with good coverage of the topical area and for originality  this site gains  4 because it provides original content .

2] PROJECT GUTENBERG:

      It is a digital library which provides books by scholars and uploaded by the scholars in so many formats such as HTML, PDF, EPUB, MOBI and PLUCKER, so for the authority this site deserves 4 points, one can find so many literary books from this site so for the educational value this site deserves 4 , this site provides good books from well respected sources of content intended to inform the users so for intent this site deserves 4, for originality and quality this site deserves 4 points.

3] JSTOR: 

           It is a digital library for scholars , researchers and students which provides access to more than 12 million academic journal articles, books and primary sources in 75 disciplines by scholars so for the authority this site deserves 4 ,for educational value this site deserves 4 because the site content help advance educational goals of the students, for intent , originality and quality this site deserves 4 point because this site is a well respected source of content intended to inform users ,This site provides source of original content by scholars and this site is highly vetted with good coverage of the topical area.

         

                Here i just did rubric about some websites which i am more familiar with but now i have provided the information about the SEER RUBRIC you can also find out about the authority, quality , educational value , intent and originality of the websites you use the most in your daily studies.we can say that we can do self examination through this website.we should always keep one thing alive in our mind that no one can become successful using shortcuts ,we should use all the websites just for guidance instead of just doing CCP.
