Abstract:

in this research paper I have tried to find out the pros and cons of online learning. In this corner pandemic e learning came up as a boon for teachers as well as students. There are so many benefits of online teaching but that doesn't mean there are no disadvantages of it. In this paper I have tried to point out major advantages and disadvantages of e learning.

Keywords:

e learning, advantages and the disadvantages, ICT tools

Introduction:

e learning is a learning system based on formalized teaching but with the help of electronic resources while teaching can be best in or out of the classrooms with the use of computers and the internet forms of major component of e-Learning this learning can also be termed as a network enabled transferred skills and knowledge and the delivery of education is made to a large number of recipients at the same or different times it was not accepted wall heartily as it was assumed that this system let the human animal required in higher learning but the current pandemic give a boost to e learning.

thanks to technology e learning is now made possible many students worldwide can now access all kinds of courses online without leaving the comfort of their loans they are given opportunities to learn from component educator's and interact with other students from different locations but just like in person learning learning also has its share of advantages and disadvantages that take a look at some of them.

  1. Save time and money

one of the most obvious advantages of e-Learning is that you can save time and money you can manage your schedule and take online courses at your most convenient time whether early in the morning the late afternoon or evening you save money to because you don't have to pay for transportation or worry about eating on the go.

  1. Better retention

E learning makes use of different platforms like Google Meet, Webbex, Zoom, which provides interactive content also you can share your thoughts and opinions with others the more engaging the lessons the most students can remember the information.

  1. Personalized learning

you can choose your learning path and study at your own pace you became more motivated and invested in the course.

  1. Cost effective

student around the only ones that can save money in England menu educational institutes save money through this set up because there is no need to use a physical classroom which translates to reduce more monetary spending.

  1. Environment friendly

he learning is also more environmentally friendly because it doesn't contribute to the pollution brought about by paper production. In online learning all we need is some laptop tablets for mobile phones nothing else no papers at all.

Disadvantages of e learning

  1. Lakes social interaction

e learning is one of the causes of social isolation because you don't see your teachers and classmates face-to-face anymore interaction is very limited to one sometimes it leads to lack of interest and boredom also.

  1. Inaccessible to others

e learning includes assessment just like in a regular classroom setting however there are no teachers or protectors to watch over you during exams it's easy for online student to share answers knowing there are nobody watching so there is a greater risk of cheating.

  1. Requires self-motivation and proper time management skills

you are basically on your own in learning you have to motivate yourself to study hard takedown notice and get the more information you should also manage your time well by learning how to juggle studying while doing other things like household course or earning money part time.

How to make online learning more engaging?

online teaching is taking off but for teachers who are used to the classroom teaching from home can be an adjustment connected via webcam isn't always easy it takes creativity to keep their brain stimulated. One must find that he or she needs a completely different teaching skills online then he or she would be in person. with most students taking online lessons outside the regular school hours and at home keeping them engage motivated and interested in the lessons can be one of the biggest challenges online teachers face.

  • Break down the lessons and make it digestible as a general rule is a good idea to keep a fast pack and breakdown information into small easily digestible chunks in practical terms this means to steer clear online the explanations and slides with too much text mixing up the tempo of your lessons by adding a variety of activity type is also a great way to make the time fly by for your students one can also write a lesson plans for the online classroom with free lesson planner like plan board and for online English teachers there are plenty of free resources out there to get you started.

  • adapt in class activities to the virtual classroom in a face-to-face class it's difficult to give students some quiet reflection time to work alone or read a text but this kind of activities don't translate well in online classrooms long dance steps are challenging to read on a screen and silence just doesn't translate that well in virtual classrooms it provides the perfect excuse for students attentions to drift elsewhere.

  • for students studying in online classrooms isolation can be a huge factor in making them feel demotivated they might think that no one will notice aur care if they miss a class or find it all to tempting to not login to the classroom if they are feeling tired the best way is to give regular feedback on students work in to be positive encouraging presence.

Confusion:

it is clear that this pandemic has now disrupted education system that many assert was already losing its relevance in his book 21st lessons for the 21st century scholar Yuval Noah Harari outlines how schools continues to focus on traditional academic skills and rote learning rather than on skills such as critical thinking and adaptability which will be more important for success in future could be moved to online learning be the catalyst to create a new more effective method of educating students while some were that the faster nature of the transition online may have ended this goal others plan to make e learning part of the new normal after experiencing the benefits first hand. which is sudden shift away from the classroom in many parts of the globe some are wondering whether the adaptation of online learning will continue to persist post pandemic and how such a shift would impact the world wide education market one research suggests that online learning has been shown to increase retention of information and take less time meaning the changes coronavirus have caused might be here to stay.in this time of Karan and online education has been becoming a new normal it happens because we left without no option traditional classroom teaching learning process since not possible due to having precautions regarding coronavirus but will it remain the same will the online education remain the same even after the word be the normal as early as it was in that matter there is no doubt that many countries are very advanced in technology and using it since long but while discussing about concept of online education in India it remains the debatable question.
