With the use of the theory of existentialism I have tried to point out the importance of waiting in the play waiting for Godot.

Keywords: existentialism, Jean Paul sartre, waiting.

Introduction:

Samuel Beckett was born in Ireland in 1906 on Friday the 13th which was good Friday so he was clearly disturbed for great things as well as slightly creepy things he is most famous now for his place particularly waiting for godot which was first performed in 1953 he also wrote process actually he started out writing process.he is a writer which kind of on the letter and of modernism and write up into postmodernism thurs traders that Boda a little bit. bakers audio synthetic work offers oblique tragicomic outlook on existence and experience of an coupled with black comedy nonsense and gallows humour it became increasingly minimalistic in his later career involving more aesthetical and linguistic experimentation he is considered one of the last modernist writers and one of the key figures in what Martin esslin called the theatre of absurd his best-known work is his play 1953 play waiting for godot.

Literature review:

the play consists of conversation between bloody Mary and astagaon who are waiting for the arrival of the mysterious God ought to continuously stands word that he will appear but would never does they encounter lucky and pozzo they discuss their mysteries and their long lost in life they consider hanging themselves and yet they wait often perceived as being trans bloody Mary and estragon are a pair of human beings who do not know why they were put on earth they make the ten years assumption that there must be some point to their existence and they look to God of for enlightenment because they hold out hope for meaning and direction they acquire a kind of nobility that enables them to rise above the futile existence.

the first step towards engaging with the play is accepting that it wouldn't supply solution to its mysteries the critic using scanner wrote that all packets works can be grasped as a wall if you are willing to let the pages of darkness fall where they do and not worry at them we shall not find out who got is and shell waste our time trying go to its purpose in the play is to be that which is awaited for and that is that when it comes to who is doing the waiting we know more Vladimir and estragon for didi and Gogo at rhymes that meet each day by a solitary tree to wait for a man called God bloody Mary and in infective man of the word and the marvellously incompetent estragon have been compared to loreal and Hardy and they are indeed essentially a comedy double act transplanted into a tragedy in English language edition bakit code the play a tragicomedy in 2x and his biographer entally chron in points out that one of its most notable characteristic is his ability to make truly funny jokes about the genuinely worst aspects of human existence and nowhere in this tell and more evident than in Godot.

 Existentialism:

Like nationalism and empiricism existentialism is a term that belongs to intellectual history its definition is does to some extent one of historical convenience the term was explicitly adopted as a self description by Jean Paul sartre and through the why did dissemination of the post war literary and philosophical output of Saturday and his associates most notably Simon De Behaviour, Maurice Meleraue Ponty, and Albert Camus.existentialism became identified with the cultural movement that flourished in Europe in the 1940 to 1950 among the major philosophers and identified as existentialists , Karl Jesper, Martin Heidegger.

existentialism therefore may be defined as the philosophical theory which holds that of for the set of categories governed by the norm of authenticity is necessary to grasp the human existence to approach existentialism in the scatter logical way may seem to conceal what is often taken to be its heart namely its character as a gesture of protest against academic philosophy its entire system sensibility its flight from the iron cage of reason but while it is true that the major existentialist philosophers fraught with a passion and urgency rather uncommon in our own time and while the idea that philosophy cannot be practiced in the disinterested manner of an objective science is indeed Central to exist on socialism it is equally true that all the themes popularly associated with existing shall ISM dread boredom alienation the absurd freedom commitment nothingness and so on find their philosophical significance in the context of the search for a new category framework together with its governing norm.

Waiting in waiting for Godot:

The research tries to interpret Samuel Beckett play waiting for godot from an existentialist perspective and tries to point out the importance of waiting in waiting for godot.

Whatever happens do not let waiting become procrastination.

Neeraj Agnihotri Procrasdamon - The artist's guide to liberation from procrastination.

Imagine if someone tells you that wait for me , I'll come soon. We waited for one hour, two hour, four,five,ten,24 hours but when the person didn't arrive how do you feel? You wasted your time on waiting, nothing else, Time is money, but you wasted it. While waiting you were so anxious,so curious to meet the person. You wanted your time, while you were waiting how many works you have completed?None..zero.

The same thing happened with Vladimir and Estragon. Bekat talks about what is our role in the space of time? how we use our time? the characters of waiting for godot Vladimir and estragon live with all this regret of time the life of this character is summed up in this question of packet there is no escape from time however much they seek to leave this conferment they become imprisoned to it.we observed that Ladi mere lagana victim of this time and waiting. Which leads the characters to expect a good thought that never arrives: goat is the time Omnipresent in the spectrum as an idea these characters try to do something or nothing and describe the passing of time as a form of waiting or living experience of the temporal God.

Positive aspects of waiting:

We can use our time wisely while waiting,

And for that one must cultivate the habit of rational and practical mind.

Negative aspects of waiting:

It leads to anxiety, stress, anger, sadness, Suicide.
